This year Northern Nights created a huge impact coming off a two-year hiatus after covid brought the entertainment industry to a standstill. Held at the beautiful Cooks Valley Campground in Northern California, attendees returned to some of their favorite stages and art installations, with breathtaking revamped aspects of the festival experience. Northern Nights is widely known for its eclectic selection of artists, the team touted a heavy emphasis on well-known electronic artists while supporting a lineup of up-in-coming up and down the state of California.

Vibrant stages with an unforgettable presence
Mainstage lit up the night sky with its stunning production and infamous lasers that gathered nearly all the attendees every day of the weekend. Troyboi and Clozee brought heavy bass to the stage with an unforgettable performance from each artist.
The River Stage, one of the most chill stages, showcased a unique lineup of unground artists with some banging headliners such as Westend and J.Worra. In addition to the vibes provided by the artist, the Northern Nights team made sure to line the river bend with a variety of vendors to keep the people engaged when they’re not floating along the Eel river or dancing their hearts out. Farmer and The Felon Cannabis co also hosted a shaded cool-off area with AbsoluteXtracts to provide folks with free swag, pre-rolls, and other smoke-friendly goodies.

The Grove stage brought to life some of the favorite aspects of the Northern Nights Music Festival. While the sun was shining, the festival reserved the grove for health and wellness activities along with living artists who developed their pieces over the course of the weekend. When the sun goes down, the party comes alive. The Grove stage illuminates the redwoods surrounding the area with illustrious productions.
Some of the best performances this year were by-products of the grassroots dance floors produced by Submerged Sessions, EPIC, Octopus Garden, and Good Vibe Collective, with others who provided blissful vibes throughout the weekend.

Great smoke and great vibes
Along with the many unique adventures that Northern Nights has to offer, this year’s attendees had the option of exploring the wares and activations of a variety of local cannabis brands for a top-shelf experience. At nearly every inch of the festival grounds, you can see how highly the attendees celebrated cannabis. The festival organizers brought back the notorious Tree Lounger that offered activations from cultivators such as Huckleberry Hill Farms and Whitethorn Rose. In addition to the Tree lounge, many brands had takeovers inside the stage-side dispensaries. This allowed farmers to create a deeper bond with the community to showcase the intricacies of their work and provide opportunities to educate.

Northern Nights is more than just a festival but a cultural experience that promotes the cultivation of family and friendships that last a lifetime. The grassroots nature of the event was highlighted in every aspect of the festival. We cannot wait to see how the organizers and attendees evolve the event in the near future. To anyone looking to experience Northern Nights, this is your sign to make that trip to Cooks Valley Campground next year
