NGHTMRE’s DRMVRSE is taking Northern California by storm, offering festival-goers a one-of-a-kind immersive music experience. We had the chance to sit down with Chris of Olympus Presents and Glen of FourFourOffset, the promoters behind the event, to learn more about the inception of the festival, what inspired them to start it, and what attendees can expect from NGHTMRE’s performance and supporting acts.

Can you tell us about the inception of this festival and what inspired you to start it?
Chris: “We’ve been ready to scale up for awhile now. I’ve been booking & promoting shows in California for over 5+ years, and I knew I wanted to do something different than just booking a show at your local run-of-the-mill concert hall. Scaling this large meant working with a larger team, and that’s where Glen & the Subphonic team came in.”
Glen: “I’ve been working on the production side of the entertainment industry for over 6 years around Los Angeles, and I’m accustomed to working with larger budgets and managing the expectations that come with working with these larger management teams and music companies. I’ve worked with Chris throughout the years on various projects, and they’ve always been knock-outs. It was a no-brainer to team up for this project.”
What can festival-goers expect from NGHTMRE’s performance?
Glen: “Bass… Haha, but actually, this DRMVRSE tour has been one of my favorite tours I’ve seen in a long time from any artist. Both musically & visually, everything has been on point. You can tell NGHTMRE & his team really poured a lot of thought into everything – down to the pyrotechnics, and it really shows.”
Can you tell us about the supporting acts and the process behind selecting them to support NGHTMRE?
Chris: “We didn’t want to throw just anyone on this lineup, and we’re stoked for each and every artist we’ve included on this show. A balanced and well-structured support lineup is paramount to making the show stand out in the market and making it a memorable experience for the audience. We wanted to select artists that we would have wanted to buy tickets to see if we were looking for something fun to do on a Saturday.”
Glen: “I’m stoked that we hit that mark successfully with our final lineup. Everyone has a unique sound, and overall I think they compliment each other & NGHTMRE very well.”

How do you prioritize the safety and comfort of festival-goers during the event?
Glen: “Attendee experience at our show is everything. Ensuring we have properly trained Security staff and emergency measures in place for different scenarios is crucial. We’ll be going into this show with pre-cautionary measures in effect to try and be ahead of the curve, as well as plans to deal with any emergencies if they were to occur.”
Can you tell us about any unique features or activities that will be available at the festival?
Glen: “There’s going to be a sweet VIP section for our 21+ crowd, it comes with 1 free drink voucher and an elevated viewing stage. It has it’s own VIP only bars & shading structures for added comfortability. General Admission can also expect full bars, delicious food & fun vendors!”
Chris: “Don’t forget the fire cannons & lasers!”
Glen: “Of course- AND there’s going to be lasers & fire cannons apart of our stage production. It’s going to be epic.”
Can you discuss any challenges you have faced in organizing this festival?
Chris: “It would definitely be trying to fit this huge stage in the middle of the racetrack. Getting all the heavy staging and equipment rolled out into the center and placed in a way that allows it to fit was a lot of measuring & adjusting. Ultimately we feel like we nailed a solid plan that is both safe and comfortable for the attendee while maxing out the production value of the space.”

How do you handle any logistical challenges, such as parking or transportation, for festival-goers?
Chris: “We’ve partnered with One N Only to provide round trip shuttles from the Bay Area, Chico and Sacramento areas. For people driving, we have a large parking lot where events at the raceway used to happen and two overflow lots.”
How do you stay current and innovative in an ever-evolving music industry?
Chris: “Taking chances and opportunities when they arise and attempting to do the things we do well already, but in new refreshing ways. Throwing a show in a racetrack is not our typical style of venue but it allows us to tackle our marketing & production in ways where we might have been limited before by regular indoor spaces.
Glen: “Being a fan of the music still and keeping one ear to the ground as far as artists go also allows us to stay one step ahead of everyone and book projects that people actually want to go see.”
Can you talk about any partnerships or collaborations that have been made for this festival?
Glen: “Unfortunately as of the moment answering this question, we can’t share our sponsors- but we’re really excited to be able to announce them!”
Chris: “Outside of the sponsors, my company Olympus Presents has teamed up with FourFourOffset & Subphonic Events to produce the show as well as One N Only who will be partnering with us for transportation

How do you measure the success of the festival?
Chris: “To me, if an attendee has the time of their life and wants to come back again to a future show with us then I’ve done my job. Success isn’t easily definable by any one singular metric, but the communities opinion of the show and what our team has provided them is pretty high up on my list of whether or not what we produced was successful.”
How do you involve the local community in the festival?
Glen: “We partnered with the Subphonic team who actively promote shows in the Sacramento scene. They’re wonderful to work with and have been essential to making this show happen. They will also be running a ticket giveaway alongside our own ticket giveaway to give some fans a chance to score free tickets to the show!”
How important is it to you to create a diverse and inclusive environment for festival-goers?
Chris: “Diversity & inclusion is focused on in tandem of everything else. It all goes back to creating & maintaining a comfortable environment for everyone who attends. Every single person attending is important to us, and making them feel at home is always the goal.”

Can you discuss any specific rules or guidelines that festival-goers should be aware of?
Glen: “There’s a rule, at the venue- that if you buy a ticket for the show, you MUST have fun.”
Chris: “Drink water. Haha.”
Can you discuss any efforts made to enhance the overall festival experience for attendees, such as food and beverage options, merchandise, or interactive installations?
Glen: “We’re bringing in food vendors, merch vendors and drink sponsors to add to the overall experience. I have plans to add decorations as well to enhance the atmosphere for everyone as well.”
What message do you hope to convey through this festival and its lineup?
Chris: “We hope to show everyone that the bass scene in Northern California is alive & thriving. People want more awesome productions like this, and not have to travel all the way to Southern California to see an epic lineup with a production that matches the caliber of talent.”
